Biography

Martin (Le Jeune) Lejeune is one of twins.
Martin LeJuene was born october 9 of 1702. He was born a "twin brother" of Paul. They were both baptized by initially by Pierre Le Jeune, on the day of their births. Then officially baptized by the recollect Felix Pain in Sept of 1705. Martin Le Jeune's parrain was Germain Le Jeune, marraine was Cathrerine Kayigomias.[1]

Research Notes

His baptism says that in 1705 when he was baptised that his parents lived in Port Multois. Could they have also lived there when he was born in 1702? Perhaps his and his twin brothers birth location should be change to Port Multois even if marked uncertain.(Bourque-573 21:41, 14 April 2024 (UTC))

I am thinking this may be our Martin Lejeune's marriage. His godmother was indigeneous. His marriage without mention of parents is probably indicative of the same thing and he's just about the right age.

Reply: According to Stephen White, the 1729 marriage for Martin Lejeune and Marie Renot would have been for this Martin's father and his third wife. One of the witnesses was Francois Blanchard, who would have been Marie Renot's son-in-law.[2][3] ~Fremmerlid-1 (25 Nov 2021).

In the record of Martin Lejeune's marriage to Marie Renaud (Rg GP 16 Oct 1729), there is no mention of the parents of either spouse. The first of the witnesses at the wedding meanwhile was Francois Blanchard. At the time, the only Francois Blanchard this could be was the husband of Anne Carne, daughter of Jacques Carne (who died in 1726) and Marie Arnault (or Renaud). Francois Blanchard's presence here makes it clear that the bride was none other than his mother-in-law. Old Martin Lejeune was a contemporary of this woman. These considerations lead to the conclusion that it was old Martas his third wife, Marie "Renaud" in 1729.
